Awareness workshop for teachers and students on waste segregation, single-use plastic ban and use of alternatives to SUPs

UNEP with its partner Chintan conducted an awareness workshop on 12th December 2024 at the Municipal Corporation Hall, Munger, engaging 100 students and 10 teachers from four different schools. The workshop introduced the fundamentals of waste management and the importance of waste segregation at the source. Students learned about the Single-Use Plastic (SUP) ban and explored sustainable alternatives suitable for school settings. Recycling and proper disposal practices were discussed through interactive activities. The training emphasized the critical role of students and teachers in promoting long-term behavioral change.
