SINTEF and JSW Cement conducted pilot tests at the JSW-Nandyal Cement Plant in Andhra Pradesh from May 28-30, 2024. The tests involved two NRPW streams: (1) Multi-layered packaging plastics (MLP), co-processed at a rate of 9 tonnes/hour, and (2) NRPW from dumpsite remediation, co-processed at 13 tonnes/hour. SGS Limited performed independent emission monitoring, with results pending. The Nandyal plant is recognized for its energy efficiency and ranks among the cement plants with the lowest carbon footprints globally.
