SINTEF and Dalmia Cement conducted pilot tests on two waste streams: (1) Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF) from municipalities and (2) NRPW from paper mills, from November 22-23, 2023. The pilot took place at the Dalmiapuram Cement Plant in Tamil Nadu, an 80-year-old facility that has been modernized over time. The tests were performed in Kiln Line 2, equipped with a chlorine bypass system. High feed rates were achieved with both waste streams, reaching a thermal substitution rate (TSR) of over 30%.
