Community capacity building workshop for self-help groups on Waste Segregation, Single-Use Plastic Ban, and Sustainable Alternatives

UNEP with its partner Chintan organized a community capacity building workshop on waste segregation, the Single-Use Plastic ban, and sustainable alternatives on 19^th November 2024 at the Municipal Corporation Hall, Munger. The workshop brought together more than 85 Self-Help Group members and waste workers for an in-depth discussion on household-level segregation and responsible disposal. Participants explored sustainable alternatives to Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) and learned about ongoing pilot initiatives. The training emphasized recycling, waste reduction, and practical solutions for behaviour change. Community engagement strategies were discussed to drive long-term impact.
