Awareness and capacity building session addressing Single use plastics in Munger city in Bihar on 17 October 2023

UNEP is working with Municipal Corporation of Munger to support them on plastics waste management and EPR. In this regard, UNEP conducted an awareness and capacity building session addressing Single use plastics in Munger city in Bihar on 17 October, 2023. The stakeholder group attending the awareness workshop included Self Help Groups of women from the sector. The event was chaired by the city Mayor, and Deputy Mayor, and Municipal Commissioner of Munger. The session was useful in spreading awareness on the banned SUP items and their possible alternatives based on life cycle studies conducted across the world.
